In Episode 5, we sit down with Mr. Leko, one of the early Bhutanese immigrants to Canberra, who takes us through his remarkable journey from Bhutan to Australia. He opens up about why he made the difficult decision to leave his job and home behind, the challenges he encountered after arriving in Australia and the struggles and experiences that shaped his journey as an immigrant. Beyond his personal journey, Mr. Leko is deeply committed to the Bhutanese community. He currently serves as the President of the Dudjom Krodikali Association of Canberra and as the Representative of Dudjom Krodikali across Australia. His dedication to the association and his active participation in Bhutanese community activities in Canberra reflect his strong sense of service and connection to his roots. But perhaps what makes Mr. Leko truly special is the warmth he brings wherever he goes. Known for his infectious smile, laughter, positivity and energetic spirit, he has become a familiar and much loved presence within the community.
