Brokshi With Kencho (BWK), a Bhutanese community talk show based in Canberra, Australia, traces its origin to a profound moment during His Majesty The King of Bhutan’s Royal Visit to Australia in 2024.
During the Royal Address, His Majesty recognised the sacrifices Bhutanese people make in leaving home to seek better opportunities abroad, while also sharing a hopeful vision for Bhutan’s future through Gelephu Mindfulness City. That message of learning, earning, and one day bringing knowledge and experience back to help build Bhutan left a lasting impression on many Bhutanese hearts.
For Kencho Tempa, that moment became the quiet seed of a larger vision. Nurtured by devotion to the King, love for the country, and faith in the Bhutanese community, it gradually grew into BWK: a platform where stories are shared over tea, wisdom is exchanged with humility, and conversations help connect Bhutanese across borders.
BWK is founded on the belief that every Bhutanese carries a story worth telling, a lesson worth sharing, and a responsibility to contribute to the future in meaningful ways. It offers a respectful and inclusive space where people can reflect on their journeys, speak honestly about hardship, celebrate achievement, and share the values, knowledge, and experiences shaped by life in Australia.
