His dedication to the association and his active participation in Bhutanese community activities in Canberra reflect his strong sense of service and connection to his roots. But perhaps what makes Mr. Leko truly special is the warmth he brings wherever he goes. Known for his infectious smile, laughter, positivity and energetic spirit, he has become a familiar and much loved presence within the community. Kuenphen Tshering Euden’s story is one of resilience, sacrifice and determination. In Episode 6 of BWK, Kuenphen opens up about growing up away from her parents, the emotions and excitement of their reunion and her journey of adapting to life in Australia. Today, at just 22, she has already achieved another major milestone, purchasing a home together with her parents. Isn’t that inspiring? Born into a Tshangla speaking family from Eastern Bhutan, Kuenphen speaks Tshangla fluently but continues to make every effort to speak Dzongkha, a challenge she embraces while working alongside colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds. Beyond nursing, she has her eyes set on the future: retiring early and building a networking business. This is a story of a young Bhutanese woman who turned separation into strength and dreams into milestones.
